Continued Professional Development (CPD).


Andy and Debbie are delighted to announce that they will be teaching CPD days in mid-Cornwall from September 2014.


Courses will include a variety of topics, ranging from Working with Children, Bereavement, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Working at Relational Depth, Guided Visualization, and Mindfulness.


Each CPD session will be either a half-day (9:30am to 1:30pm), or a full-day (9:30am to 4:30pm), and delivered on a Saturday. A buffet lunch, tea and coffee will be available, in a lovely room that leads out onto green fields and woods.

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), define Continued Professional Development (CPD) as:


"Any learning experience that can be used for the systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of competence, knowledge and skills to ensure that the practitioner has the capacity to practice safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice.  It may include both personal and professional development."

The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) makes specific a professional minimum requirement for CPD:

'Minimum of 250 hours CPD activity over 5 year period and a minimum of 20 hours during any year within that 5 year period'.
